The opening of A Little Bud cannabis store marked a new beginning for the community of White Rock – it’s the first licensed non-medical cannabis store in the area.
While the store is a newer addition to White Rock community, you can expect the same award-winning work that their sister medicinal dispensary in Abbotsford has been known for – in fact, in both 2017 and 2018 they earned third-place honours from Leafly in the category of best medical dispensary in BC.
Giving back to community
While offering high-quality cannabis products continues to be a priority for the team at A Little Bud, a commitment to their community remains another founding principle of the store.
“We’re incredibly lucky to be here and we want to give back to services that are going to help support those in our communities who need it. We also want to encourage others to do the same,” explains Randy Tingskou, president of A Little Bud.
Key to that is their financial commitment to give back 2.5 per cent of their profits to local community organizations.
Recently, that included a $3,000 donation to the Royal Canadian Legion and a donation of $3,896 to the Sources Food Bank White Rock/South Surrey, along with several barrels of non-perishables donated by customers.
“Our next goal is to support a local mental health initiative that would align with mental health resources to provide counselling, for example, to younger adults,” Tingskou says.
While they’re working at finding the right initiative to support, customer opinions matter. Feedback is always encouraged, and Tingskou urges the community to reach out via email with ideas for particular programs worthy of support.
And with a full menu of offerings, including flowers, pre-rolls, vaporizers, concentrates, edibles, tinctures and topicals, customers have plenty of options to choose from.
