Nanaimo’s second B.C. Cannabis Store opened Jan. 7.
The B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch announced in a press release that the Country Club Centre location is the first government-run cannabis retail store to open in the province in 2022.
“This is the second store to open in Nanaimo and we are looking forward to continuing to serve the community,” said Kevin Satterfield, director of retail operations, cannabis operations, B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch. “Our cannabis consultants undergo extensive training and are eager to guide customers to a purchase that meets their needs while reinforcing the values of responsible use and safety.”
In addition to dried cannabis flower and pre-rolled joints, the store will sell oils, edibles, extracts, topicals and capsules.
The 3,000-square-foot store will support five full-time jobs and eight auxiliary employees. Only those 19-plus can enter the store and masks are required.
The store will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays and most statutory holidays.
