The number of folks flocking to Canada for a cannabis tourism experience keeps getting higher and higher.
B.C., Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Manitoba are the top provinces for cannabis tourism according to the Dope Destinations guide developed by Kayak, an American online travel agency.
A majority of the travellers looking for cannabis experiences in Canada are from large cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington and Minneapolis.
Kayak says nearly one-quarter of Americans aged 21 to 34 have travelled to a destination where cannabis had been legalized.

Despite the growing interest in cannabis tourism, there remain few places in Canada where travellers can consume cannabis indoors or outdoors without encountering provincial legislation or room rental policies that prohibit smoking.
“Travellers planning to visit one of North America’s dope destinations should abide by the local laws in each city and, if they plan to smoke or consume cannabis, plan their trip accordingly,” a spokesperson for Kayak said.
Most travellers get enough thrills out of visiting a dispensary — which can be found in most Canadian cities and towns. However, possible experiences, depending on the destination, include taste-testing a cannabis-infused restaurant menu, as well as going on “weed tours” which are similar to wine tours, but for weed.
